Escaping the city for the launch of Dandy Gin
As much as I love living in the big city that is Montreal, from time to time, I like to disconnect from the busy urban life and reconnect with nature in a more rural setting. That’s why I was so excited when I received an invitation to go to Vergers Lafrance for the launch of Dandy Gin — a brand new « all made in Quebec » gin made out of apples, grapes & pears — I was very excited for this little day trip outside Montreal.
Where is Vergers Lafrance and what they do?
Vergers Lafrance is located in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, a municipality 45 minutes north west of Montreal. The whole setting is very bucolic and is worth the short detour. The only way to get there is by car or bike — for cyclists, there’s a bike route that passes nearby. While you’re in the area, take another detour to Oka for the beautiful beach.
When we arrived on site, I was immediately under the charm of the place. The very modern facilities and the nice view on the orchard caught my attention.
On site, you’ll be able to do apple picking, have a picnic, buy and taste their products in their boutique — the price is slightly better than at SAQ, so get all the booze!
Bonjour Jeff merci pour la belle visite de ce verger et les belles photos.
