Embracing the weather even on a rainy day
Lately, the weather in Montreal has been a total rollercoaster. One day, it’s summer temperatures and light blue skies and the next there is snow, rain and gray skies. Weather kind of affects me a lot — I usually don’t like to do much when it’s raining — but since this weather is so unpredictable, I decided to go with the flow and embrace the weather no matter what.
I decided to go out on a gray day and it started to rain immediately as I went out of the metro station.
My love for architecture has always been very strong — I studied architecture at the college — so I decided to put the emphasis of my photowalk on architecture in downtown Montreal.
As soon as the fog rolled in atop the skyscrapers, I already had in mind how I would edit those photos.
What photography gear I use for these photos?
For this particular photowalk, I decided to bring my Nikon D750 along with my Sigma Art 24mm f/1.4 and Sigma Art 50mm f/1.4. I ended up using the 24mm only since I wanted a unified wide angle style for all the photos. Whenever I’m out shooting on the streets, I carry my Peak Design Slide Camera Strap, it’s absolutely the best and most useful camera strap around.
I always shoot in RAW no matter what I’m shooting and after I edit my photos using the powerful Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC.
