Get caffeinated by drinking a real Cuban coffee at a local café

Getting real Cuban cafe from a hole-in-the-wall shop in Havana is a great way to experience the city’s vibrant coffee culture. Cuban coffee is known for its strong, full-bodied flavour and its thick, creamy texture, and it’s a staple of daily life in the country. You can find small shops and stands (especially in the early morning) selling Cuban coffee all over the city, often housed in tiny, unassuming spaces. When you visit one of these shops, you’ll be able to order a small cup of coffee (called a cortadito) and watch as the barista expertly prepares it using a traditional espresso machine. The beverage is usually served sweet and with a splash of milk, and it’s a great pick-me-up to start your day. Now this is a true taste of local culture.
