Nikon Z8 Review: A Pro Photographer’s Perspective
A veteran professional photographer, loyal Nikon user, and transitioner from DSLR to mirrorless shares insights and critiques on Nikon Z8 from his practical experience. Having initiated his photographic journey with Nikon D200, he raised concerns about the Nikon Z7 II's unreliable autofocus, less fitting ergonomics, and subpar video settings as he moved from DSLR to mirrorless. The Nikon Z8 resolved the previous model's setbacks, featuring rapid startup, highly effective autofocus, comfortable ergonomics, improved video capabilities, and a dual USB-C port. The limited card slots, faster storage fill-up, costlier memory cards for RAW video shooting, and relatively smaller battery life were among the identified cons. Despite the downsides, the Nikon Z8 is highly recommended for professional photographers transitioning from DSLR to mirrorless.
