The neighborhood
Whenever I think about Paris, I think of luxe, fashion and amazing food. The luxury side gets even more palpable when you choose to stay in the 1st arrondissement. You’re gonna be surrounded by all the luxury brands and probably the nicest buildings of la Ville-Lumière. That’s what you’re going to get when staying at Hôtel Richepanse.
On my most recent visit to Paris, I stayed at the discreet but phenomenal Hôtel Richepanse, which is part of Hôtels & Préférence group. Located at the crossing of Rue du Chevalier Saint-George and Rue Duphot — you’re gonna find yourself minutes away from Madeleine subway station which will bring you directly to the east — 10th arrondissement (line 8) and north — Montmartre (line 12).
Inside the hotel
Modern luxe at Hôtel Richepanse
Immediately when you arrive at the hotel, you’re gonna feel it. The feeling of a newly renovated 4 star establishment, decorated with so much taste and with modern traveler in mind — thanks to the various amenities.
The lobby is so heartwarming and has very nice touches such as the water based fireplace — it produces a water myst that mimics the flame and smoke. Needless to say the geek in me was very impressed.
The rooms
Deluxe Room
I had the chance to stay in a Deluxe Room and I was very pleased with it for many reasons. First of all, it’s very spacious for a Parisian hotel room. I love it when you don’t have to do Cirque du Soleil moves just to get to your bed. Also, it has a nice large table perfect for working a bit if you need to.
Can I have the Wi-Fi password please?
Even though most hotels will claim they have high-speed internet access throughout the hotel, it will rarely be fast — even when you pay a daily fee for it.
At Hôtel Richepanse, they got it all figured out internet-wise. It’s blazing fast and it’s free — oh and no password needed. Perfect for the freelancer who needs to work remotely and don’t want to get out in a crowded café with bad Wi-Fi. Also, in every deluxe room, there is a large table that will easily fit two laptops and your Uber Eats delivery.
So-comfortable-you’re-gonna-want-to-stay-in-all-day type of bed
About the bed: it is so comfortable that I almost stayed an entire day in it watching YouTube videos and relaxing.
Suite
While I didn’t stay in this type of room for obvious reasons — I’m a solo traveler — this type is perfect for families or friends that want to stay together in connecting rooms.
Other amenities
I loved how every single detail in the room such as the convenient USB plug on each side of the bed. Also, there’s an easy to use touchscreen panel to control lighting and temperature in every room.
Also, I can’t tell how much I love a rain shower and there’s an extraordinary one in the Deluxe Room.
Breakfast in bed
I mean, who doesn’t like the option to have breakfast in bed? Sure there is an amazing breakfast room located in the beautiful 17th century vault.
Personally, I decided to have breakfast in bed because it allowed me to work a little before starting my day off

Outside the hotel
Next to the hotel — a few minutes away — you’ll find a handful of amazing locations. Looking for coffee? I definitely recommend trying out Kitsune. If you’re in for a quick eat, go to Prêt à Manger. If you’re looking for shopping, Galeries Lafayette is a few blocks away and carry all the most luxurious brands of the world as well as amazing streetwear.
